Actions towards a sustainable future
Location & Venue
Location
“Swaziland gives visitors the very best of Africa in a neat, compact package. The best of Africa’s landscapes and culture: great national parks; fabulous artwork; and vibrant festivals. It is easy to get from place to place and the distances between points of interest are relatively short.
Swaziland’s’ attractions include unspoilt and affordable game and nature reserves, some of the finest walking in Southern Africa, modern shopping centre’s and colorful markets, interesting museums and world class restaurants and entertainment. Swaziland also provides numerous interesting opportunities for stimulating dialogue on environmental education and sustainable development.
Swazi handicrafts offer some of the best value in the region and there are places where you can see the craftspeople at work. It’s worth tracking down some of the objects that you won’t find elsewhere in Southern Africa, such as colourful Swazi candles and the exquisite, handmade glassware at Ngwenya, to take home.
Swazi’s are very proud of their country and culture and rightly so. They fought long and hard for their territory. It is fortunate that this unique country has kept its independence thereby preserving its cultural heritage very successfully.
Swazi’s are very friendly people and most visitors take away memories of smiling adults and waving children, particularly if they spend any time in the countryside.
Swaziland is a small country and it’s easy to drive around the whole country in a couple of days. But be warned, you’ll be disappointed if you spend so little time in this wonderful country.”
