Since the declaration of the UN Decade on Education for Sustainable Development (2005 – 2014), there has been a resounding call to action amidst the mindless human consumption, which is undermining the Earth’s life support systems and the potential for all life to flourish.

The 26th EEASA conference preceded by the World Environmental Education Congress and the Fourth International Conference on Environmental Education (ICEE) held in Durban and Ahmedabad respectively, provides an opportunity to reflect on tools, methods and approaches we can use as educators. The conference theme; “Action Towards a Sustainable Future” is therefore a response to calls such as the Ahmedabad Declaration.
